About 15,000 Indians could fly back home from all across the world, with a lion’s share of them coming from the Gulf, in the first week of repatriation flights that start from Thursday. The number will be much more as Indians are being brought back on naval ships too. In the first week of the biggest ever homecoming exercise undertaken by any country for its citizens, India plans to operate 64 flights from places like UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Singapore, Malaysia, UK, USA, Philippines and Bangladesh. Of the 64 flights planned from May 7-14, 26 will be from Gulf region; 17 from Southeast Asia, and seven each from USA, UK and Bangladesh. About 14,800 Indians are expected to return back on these flights.
